Introduction

Manaslu Circuit Trek is a famous off beaten trail in the Himalayas, is located in the west-central part of Nepal near the border with Tibet. The main objective of this trekking is to reach the vicinity of Mount Manaslu (8163m) which is considered the 8th highest mountain in the world belongs to the Mansiri Himal range and the term “Manaslu” stands for “The Spirit Mountain”. According to the folklore, the most compassionate and strong divine-being mysteriously dwells within its area. Manaslu Circuit trek can also be an alternative to the Annapurna Circuit Trek though quitter and relaxing as few number of visitors travel to the area in comparison to the one who travel to Annapurna Region.
 
Manaslu Circuit Trek is considered as one of the strenuous treks that Nepal offers. It is a perfect blend of the nature and culture. Most part of the area lies under the Manaslu Conservation Area Project where various species of rare flora and fauna are conserved. This is a culturally diverse trek finally ending up with the Tibetan cultures high in the Himalayas. You will have plenty of opportunities to interact with local people who are called Nupris while on the trail. You may visit various gompa's, monasteries and chortens. The trek starts as soon as we take a drive to Arughat Bazar which will take approximately 6 hours to reach. It is also the last place to buy any last minute gears that is missed during the packing. Further we will drive to Soti Khola. Ther trek generally starts from the sub-Tropical region at an altitude of 700 meters above the sea level. The itinerary is planned in such a way that it allows proper acclimatization to the trekkers gaining an altitude as you trek further. The trek paths follows the Budhi Gandaki River and its valley. The small streams, villages, steep canyons, mountains become the attraction. The main highlight of the trek would be a visit to the base of eight highest Mountain "Mount Makalu" and crossing the Larkya Pass which is considered as a difficult and dramatic pass. 
 
Expedition Himalaya offers Manaslu Circuit trek to all the interested climbers. We have tried to keep the itinerary well planned so that we can minimize the hassle to the guests. While on the trek, everything shall be managed by us. We shall provide the trekkers with three meals a day (Breakfast/ Lunch / Dinner) with accommodations at the best available tea houses operated by the local entrepreneurs of the region. However, in Kathmandu we shall arrange hotel for your stay on BB plan. This will allow you to explore the Nepalese cuisines as well. 
 
Manaslu Circuit Trek can be done during is recommended to be carried out during  Spring (Mar-May) and Autumn (Sep-Nov) which are two best seasons for trekking in this region. Our team of professional leaders, experienced trekking guides, helpful porters and friendly staffs will be at your service to ensure safe and enjoyable trek. We shall provide you with a guide and porter (Increases with increase in group size), assistant guide (for bigger group) who will be accompanying you throughout the trip.

 

Itinerary

Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu one of our office representative shall assist you and take you to the hotel. Kindly look for the person holding the placard with your name as well as company's name at the arrival terminal. He/she shall also help you check-in to the respective hotel. In the evening, there will be a short meeting with the sales staff at the hotel itself.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   

After your breakfast at the hotel, you can spend the day relaxing and packing for the trek. If you need additional trekking gear, this is the day to purchase it. We can also arrange a sightseeing tour for an additional cost, a great way to explore Kathmandu and learn about the local culture.                                                                                                                               

Leaving Kathmandu Valley, we drive to Machha Khola, which takes about 9 hours. The drive along the Prithvi Highway offers stunning views of mountains, green hills, rivers, and diverse landscapes. The road may be bumpy after Dhading due to off-road tracks, but the scenic beauty makes up for it.                                                                                                                         

We begin our trek by crossing the bridge over the Budhi Gandaki River and ascending through a grassy ridge to reach Khursane. Passing through the village of Lapubesi and crossing several suspension bridges, we reach Jagat, a beautiful village with stone-paved streets.                                                                                                                 Meals: 

We pass through villages like Salleri and Sirdibas, enjoying views of the Ganesh Himal range. Continuing on the trail, we reach Philim, inhabited by the Gurung community. Entering a forested path with bamboo and rhododendrons, we cross a wooden bridge over Deng Khola to arrive at Deng.

Crossing a suspension bridge over the Budhi Gandaki River, we trek through pine forests to reach Prok village, offering beautiful views of Shringi Himal (7161m). After trekking for 7 hours, we reach Namrung and visit Namila Gumba.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     

Trekking through Tibetan-influenced areas, we pass Lihi and Sho villages, enjoying views of Manaslu (8163m) and other peaks. Walking through trans-Himalayan trails, we reach Sama Gaon, rich in Tibetan culture and ancient monasteries.                                                                                                                                                                     

Explore Sama Gaon and visit Manaslu Base Camp (4400m) via a moraine trail. Enjoy stunning views of Birendra Tal, Manaslu Glacier, and the surrounding peaks before returning to Sama Gaun.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     

Trek through yak pastures with incredible mountain views. Passing Mani walls at Kemo Kharka and descending to Budhi Gandaki, we reach the ancient herding settlement of Samdo.

Trek alongside Budhi Gandaki River, passing chortens, Mani walls, and prayer flags. Crossing Larkya Glacier, we reach Dharamsala, also known as Larke Phedi.                                                  

Ascending through a ridge on Larkya Glacier’s north side, we reach Larkya La Pass (5160m). After enjoying the panoramic mountain views, we descend steeply to Bimthang.

Descending through Sangure Kharka, we enjoy views of Manaslu, Cheo Himal, and other peaks. Following Dudh Khola’s flow, we reach the forested path leading to Tilije. 

Crossing a wooden bridge over Dudh Khola, we pass Thonje village and trek alongside Marsayangdi River to Karte. After a couple of hours, we reach Tal.

On the final day of trekking, we descend through a forested path filled with rhododendrons and pine trees. Following the Marsayangdi River, we arrive at Syange. 

A 9-hour jeep ride brings us back to Kathmandu. Enjoy roadside views, and upon arrival, explore local markets or eateries.

Explore Kathmandu until departure. Three hours before your flight, an office representative will escort you to Tribhuvan International Airport for final departure.
