Introduction

Located just 19 miles north of the Kathmandu Valley and south of the Tibetan border, Langtang Valley offers trekkers a close encounter with the majestic Himalayan peaks, including the Langtang and Ganesh Himal ranges. The trek begins with a scenic helicopter flight from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi, offering breathtaking aerial views of the mountains. From there, the trail winds through dense forests filled with oaks, pines, and bamboo trees, where trekkers can spot wildlife such as Himalayan black bears, Himalayan Thars, rhesus monkeys, and the rare red panda. Along the way, trekkers are treated to views of towering peaks like Langtang Lirung, Ganesh Himal, and Naya Kanga, while passing waterfalls, rugged terrain, Mani walls, Chortens, and fluttering prayer flags. A highlight of the trek is Kyanjin Gompa, an ancient Buddhist monastery surrounded by snow-capped peaks, where trekkers can also visit the local cheese factory. The trek ends with a thrilling helicopter flight from Kyanjin Ri back to Kathmandu, providing a sweeping view of the Langtang Valley and the surrounding mountains, ensuring a quick and scenic return to the city.

Itinerary

Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, one of the Expedition Himalaya representatives will greet you and escort you to the hotel. They will assist you with the check-in process.

This day is free for you to rest or make any last-minute preparations for the trek. In the evening, we will hold a brief meeting to go over the dos and don'ts of the trek.

In the morning, take a scenic helicopter flight from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi, which takes approximately 30-40 minutes. After arrival, you'll be escorted to your accommodation. Relax and enjoy the tranquil atmosphere of the area.

Begin your first trek as you ascend to Lama Hotel. Follow the Langtang Khola, cross a suspension bridge, and enter a lush forest of rhododendron, pine, bamboo, and oak trees. Along the way, you’ll pass ancient monasteries before reaching Lama Hotel for the night.

Continue your trek along the forested path, filled with rhododendron and pine trees, to Ghoda Tabela. Enter Langtang National Park, where you may encounter wildlife such as Himalayan Thar, monkeys, or even a red panda. As you pass through villages, you’ll observe the unique culture of the Tamang people.

Today’s trek leads you to Kyanjin Gompa, an ancient Buddhist monastery surrounded by majestic mountain peaks. The journey takes you through villages and across beautiful landscapes, offering spectacular views of the Langtang range

Take a well-deserved rest day and enjoy a short hike to Kyanjin Ri, which offers panoramic views of the Langtang Valley. Afterward, relax and explore the monastery or visit the local cheese factory.

Rise early for a challenging hike to Tsergo Ri, where you’ll be rewarded with stunning views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks. After taking in the breathtaking scenery, return to Kyanjin Gompa to

In the morning, take a scenic helicopter flight from Kyanjin Gompa back to Kathmandu. Enjoy aerial views of Langtang Valley and the surrounding mountains before landing in Kathmandu.

On your last day in Nepal you will be transferred to the airport for your departure flight, concluding your unforgettable Langtang Valley adventure.
