Introduction

Featuring the world’s most dangerous roadway, Besisahar-Chame roadway, and the high mountain pass of Thorong La (5416m), Annapurna Circuit Trek (ABC Trek) is the ultimate trek for adventure lovers from all over the world. Annapurna Circuit Trek was opened in the early ‘80s and is located in the Annapurna region of Nepal. Annapurna Circuit Trek features breathtaking vista of the Himalayas, Himalayan valleys, glaciers, lakes, waterfalls, rhododendron forests, ancient Buddhist monasteries, vintage caves, and diverse culture, language, and tradition.

Annapurna Circuit Trek is one of the most popular and easier treks in Nepal. The trekkers get to relish the alluring view of the Annapurna range, the Dhaulagiri range, Gangapurna (7454m), Tilicho peak (7134m), Nilgiri (7041m), Hiunchuli (6441m), Lamjung Himal (6986m), Tukuche Peak (6920m), and the other Himalayas. Tagging along with gigantic mountains, the trek also features trekking through beautiful Marsayangdi valley, which is home to Thakali, Gurung, and other ethnic groups of this region. The trek also features the small town of Manang which is famous all over the country for its typical Thakali food, and you would know why once you taste it yourself. Trekking through apple orchards and on sandy terrain, the trekkers will also reach the windy valley of Jomsom after their visit to the Muktinath Temple. Muktinath Temple is an example of religious tolerance among Hindus, Buddhists, and Bons in Nepal. Itinerary

Arrive in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal. Transfer to your hotel and relax after your flight. Take the evening to explore or rest in preparation for the upcoming trek.

A day to prepare for your trek, gather last-minute supplies, and finalize your gear. You can explore Kathmandu’s cultural sites like Swayambhunath or Boudhanath, or rest.

Drive from Kathmandu to Bhulbhule, the starting point of your trek. The scenic drive offers glimpses of rural life and the foothills of the Himalayas. Overnight stay in Bhulbhule.

Continue your journey by road to Chame, the administrative headquarters of the Manang district. Along the way, enjoy views of the surrounding mountains and lush landscapes.

Start your trek towards Upper Pisang. The trail offers beautiful views of Annapurna II and Lamjung Himal, passing through pine forests and traditional villages, culminating at Upper Pisang for an overnight stay.

Trek to Manang, passing through the village of Ngawal. The trail provides stunning mountain views, and you’ll notice the change in landscape as you gain altitude. Manang offers a glimpse of local culture and high-altitude life.

Take a rest day in Manang for acclimatization. Explore the surrounding area, hike to nearby viewpoints, or visit the Himalayan Rescue Association clinic to learn about altitude sickness.

Continue your trek to Ledar, a small settlement at higher altitude. The trail takes you through dry, rocky terrain with spectacular views of the surrounding peaks. Rest overnight in Ledar.

Trek towards Thorung Phedi, the base camp for the Thorong La Pass. The trail ascends steadily, offering beautiful views of the surrounding peaks as you approach the high camp.

Today is the most challenging day as you cross Thorong La Pass (5416m), the highest point of the trek. After crossing the pass, descend to Muktinath, a sacred site for both Hindus and Buddhists.

Descend to Kagbeni, a small village on the banks of the Kali Gandaki River. Kagbeni is known for its traditional architecture and offers spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and landscapes.

Trek to Jomsom, a popular town known for its apple orchards. The trail follows the Kali Gandaki River, passing through small villages and enjoying the stunning mountain scenery along the way.

Fly from Jomsom to Pokhara, a picturesque city known for its lakes and mountain views. Upon arrival, relax and explore the beautiful lakeside area of Pokhara.

Fly back to Kathmandu. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel. You’ll have time to shop, relax, or visit the city’s cultural landmarks before your departure.

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your international departure, marking the end of your Annapurna Circuit Trek.
