Itinerary

Arrive in Kathmandu, Nepal’s vibrant capital. You’ll be transferred to your hotel, where you can rest and recover from your journey. In the evening, enjoy a welcome dinner with a briefing about your trek. Explore the city at your leisure or relax in preparation for the adventure ahead.

Today is a leisure day in Kathmandu, allowing time for rest, sightseeing, and final preparations. You can visit iconic landmarks like Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple) or Boudhanath Stupa, or shop for trekking gear.

Catch a scenic helicopter flight to Lukla, bypassing the rugged road journey. From Lukla, start your trek to Phakding, passing through Sherpa villages and beautiful forests. Enjoy the first glimpses of the Himalayas as you make your way to this tranquil village, located by the Dudh Koshi River.

Today’s trek takes you to Namche Bazaar, the vibrant gateway to the Everest region. The trail winds through alpine forests and across suspension bridges. Along the way, catch the first glimpses of Everest and other towering peaks. Namche Bazaar is a bustling Sherpa town offering great views and a place to acclimatize.

From Namche, trek to Khumjung, a picturesque village known for its traditional Sherpa culture. The trail passes through beautiful forests, offering views of Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. Khumjung is famous for the Hillary School and its serene atmosphere, providing a peaceful retreat.

The trek to Tengboche is a relatively short but scenic journey, passing through forests of rhododendron and fir trees. Tengboche is home to the famous Tengboche Monastery, where you can take in stunning views of Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. The monastery is a spiritual hub for the local Sherpa community.

Today’s trek takes you through the Imja Valley to the village of Dingboche. The trail offers magnificent views of the surrounding peaks, including Makalu and the towering south face of Lhotse. Dingboche is a peaceful village, perfect for acclimatizing before continuing higher into the Himalayas.

This is an acclimatization day to help your body adjust to the increasing altitude. You can take a short hike to a nearby ridge for panoramic views of the surrounding peaks. Resting today will help prevent altitude sickness and ensure a safe ascent on your upcoming trekking days.

From Dingboche, trek to Lobuche, passing through the alpine landscape and scenic valleys. The path takes you through yak pastures and past memorials for climbers who lost their lives in the region. Lobuche offers beautiful views of the Khumbu Glacier and the surrounding peaks, marking a significant milestone on your trek.

Today's trek is a major highlight—head to Gorak Shep, the final settlement before Everest Base Camp. After reaching Gorak Shep, continue to Everest Base Camp, where you’ll stand at the foot of the world's highest peak. Take in the incredible surroundings, including the Khumbu Icefall and the vast expanse of snow and rock.

An early morning trek to Kala Patthar offers one of the best views of Mount Everest. The summit provides an unforgettable panoramic view of Everest, Lhotse, and other Himalayan giants. Afterward, take a helicopter flight back to Lukla, enjoying aerial views of the Everest region before returning to the comfort of Lukla.

Take a scenic helicopter flight back from Lukla to Kathmandu, offering spectacular aerial views of the Himalayas. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, transfer to your hotel for a relaxing afternoon. Enjoy a leisurely evening and reflect on your incredible trek in the Everest region.

Enjoy a leisure day in Kathmandu, perfect for relaxing after your trek. You can explore more of the city, visit temples, or shop for souvenirs. If you wish, you can also opt for a cultural experience or enjoy a traditional Nepali dinner at a local restaurant.

Amazing experience with expedition himalaya!

I have just returned from trekking Everest Base Camp with 3 other wonderful girls and we couldn’t have done it without Expedition Himalaya! They had everything so well organised that we didn’t have to worry about a thing as everything ran smoothly our whole trip!

Neema Sherpa was an unreal guide - constantly telling us info about the surrounding mountains, trekking conditions and altitude so that we had an enjoyable time but also felt extremely safe throughout our trek! I became unwell towards the end of the trip and Neema and the wonderful porters took great care of me :) always disappearing and turning up with strepsils and asking if I needed any medicine to make me feel better! Neema was constantly worrying about us and not himself and whenever we asked how he was it was alaways “perfect, obviously!” which was both humerous but also very humble :)

This experience was genuinely amazing! All 4 of us 21 year old Australian girls making it to Base Camp, meeting some incredible people along the way and creating great relationships with our guide and porters during the experience! Could not recommend highly enough :)

An amazing extended family adventure - ages ranging from 12 to 72!!

So grateful to Expedition Himalaya for looking after us so well on our adventure in Nepal. Met at Kathmandu airport and enjoyed exploring Kathmandu. EH were very flexible and happy to accommodate our wishes. They organised a Guide for us one day and left us to our own devices the second day. All transport and tickets were sorted for us and when Lukla airport closed, due to bad weather, they made contact with us at the airport, we did land at, to discuss options which was very reassuring. Fortunately Lukla did reopen and we arrived on the day as planned. We chose to still trek as planned despite being late and our Guide looked after us as we trekked with head torches!!
The long climb to Namche was very tough but the Guide and porters looked after us all well.
Our plans changed and the group split into two. This meant that new accommodation had to be sorted out. This was all done successfully for us. At no point did we feel that this was too much trouble.
One group got to Gokyo Ri and the other to Khunde. What beautiful parts of the world. We so pleased we flew back to Lukla via helicopter.A fantastic life time experience.
It was great that we had been provided with an accurate kitlist for the trek.
Would highly recommend booking through Expedition Himalaya.

I had a wonderful experience with this company. They allowed me to customize my trip to base camp in a shorter timer frame. My porter, guide and the trip co-ordinator were all very attentive and helpful.

The company helped us a lot in the organisation of the trip and helped us with getting into Nepal during the Covid-19 periode. It was easy getting into contact and the information they gave was very useful. The trip itself was great! From pickup from the airport, hotel, flight to Lukla, expedition, flight back, help with PCR test and transfer back to the airport was arranged perfectly!

Thanks for a great experience of the Himalayan
