Introduction

Everest Base Camp Trek is the most beautiful and interesting trek that will take trekkers to the base of the World’s Highest Mountain “Mount Everest”. Though most searched and most loved trekking destination, a limited number of visitors get a chance to visit the place.  The trek provides an opportunity to discover the unique culture and lifestyle of the Sherpa people who are known as the guardian angels of the Himalayas. One of the major highlights of the treks is it offers an alluring view of Mt. Everest (8848m), Lhotse (8414m), Pumori, (7165m), Ama Dablam (6856m), Mt. Khumbila (5761m), and the other Himalayas while standing on the foot of the mighty Everest. Along with the breath-taking vista of the Himalayas, the trekkers also get to relish the beauty of Khumbu Glacier. Kala Patthar (5550m), which is the best viewpoint to relish the beauty of Everest (8848m), is another gist of Everest Base Camp Trek. The trek also features a visit to the hotel operated at the highest altitude in the world, Hotel Everest View (3962m).

The trekking trail passes through the Sagarmatha National Park which has been inscribed as the country’s first national park to be listed as UNESCO World Heritage Site. If one is lucky enough, a rare glimpse of Himalayan Fauna and Flora can also be spotted.

The trip to the Everest Base Camp starts as soon as your flight lands in Kathmandu where you will be welcomed and escorted to the respective hotel as agreed. Prior to the trek, you can involve yourself in sightseeing tours which allow you to have an insight into the glorious Nepalese history. The trekking journey starts on day 3 when you will be taking an early morning flight to Lukla which is also known as the gateway to Everest. The trekking starts with as soon as one reaches Lukla and trek towards Phakding. The well-developed trekking trail will lead you forward towards the dream. Besides the natural beauties, the EBC Trek also allows trekkers to adore the pleasant alpine vegetation, beautiful Tibetan villages, chortens, monasteries, prayer flags, etc.

Expedition Himalaya allows you to enjoy the holiday to the fullest by organizing the complete package making your trip hassle-free. Accommodation at the tea houses operated by the local entrepreneurs will be provided with inclusive of the meals. This Trek can be done during any time of the year. However, the best time for trek would be the Spring Season (March to May) and autumn season (October to December). Our standard 15 days Everest Base Camp Trek is designed in such a way that it allows proper acclimatization and adequate time for trekkers to adapt with the environment and enjoy the trek to the fullest.

Andrew B
ery well organised company with a personal touch

My wife and I visited Nepal in April 2019, using Expedition Himalaya to organise our Three Passes trek in the Everest region. Correspondence was punctual and informative leading up to our trip, and all went smoothly upon arrival i.e. transfer to our hotel, where we were met in person and warmly welcomed by the managing director Nabin and Kritee. Expedition Himalaya arranged our flights to / from Lukla. A special mention should be made to the guide assigned to us, Gombu, who was always in a jovial mood, unrelentingly enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the mountains and the local people, shared stories of his own mountaineering exploits with us and genuinely couldn't do enough for us - he was an absolute star, and a great man. Ultimately the itinerary was exactly as promised (with enough flexibility for us to fit in some side trips on acclimatisation days), and we cannot fault the organisation and professionalism of Expedition Himalaya, which is run very well; they have my recommendation for anyone requiring a guide / assistance with their visit to Nepal, which is an unbelievably beautiful country with lovely people.

Everest Base Camp Trek

Traveled with Expedition Himalaya recently. They were amazing. We had very specific requirements and they were super easy to deal with. They helped us organize everything from airport transfers to a helicopter trip all the way from Lukla to Kathmandu at our treks end. Their advice on the best trekking route to Base Camp was invaluable.
We had amazing guides. Our head guide was Dhan - he has amazing experience and was able to share so many secrets along the way. He was always there with extra motivation when we hit hard times along the way. We also had an additional guide who was preparing for an Everest Expedition. The porters were fantastic as well - not one complaint about the weight!!
Dhan organized the lot - food, accommodation, sight seeing. Nothing was too hard and he really made the trip a once in a lifetime experience.

Kala Patthar Trek

I just trekked to Kala Patthar with Expedition Himalaya and it was fantastic. It was my first high altitude trek. Their guide Karma summited Everest 7 times, so he was very experienced and knowledgeable. He was also very careful about the acclimatization process, which was critical. Nabin, the Managing Director, was also very responsive to our needs.

Everest basecamp trek

Was a great trek to Everest Basecamp.
Flew from Dallas Texas to Kathmandu. Took 36 hours to make the flight. Next time I will do layovers along the flights.
Flew from Kathmandu to Lukla where we started hike. Around 35 miles of hiking from Lukla to Everest Basecamp. Overnight accommodations were from excellent to poor. Tea rooms for dining were always good. We had good weather the entire trek so didn’t need our gear in day packs. Sherpas carried all our heavy gear bags to each overnight stops. It made the hike more enjoyable and especially at those high altitudes to not have to carry the extra weight. Highly recommended to get diamox for the altitude. There is a lot of up and down hiking along the valleys. So it can be difficult if you’re not in shape. On average around 7 miles a day. The scenery is absolutely beautiful. Towering ice covered mountains. Several cable bridges to cross the river along the way. We opted to make arrangements to take a returning helicopter back to Lukla from a lower stop from Everest Basecamp.
The Sherpas at Everest Basecamp took real good care of us. Good food and tea.
When we got back to Kathmandu, we did tours and restaurants before returning home. I would do this trip again.
I went in March 2017 and not the date selection listed.

10/10 EBC trek/Kala Patthar summit
Posted by Emily PM on 14-02-2025 08:32:50 | Rating:

I had the most amazing experience on my EBC trek/Kala Patthar summit with Expedition Himalaya. From the time I was retrieved at the airport to the time I was brought back at the end of my stay in Nepal, I felt safe, welcomed, and cared for. My accommodations prior to and after the trek were extremely comfortable, and the trek itself was the most magical adventure.

My guide (Karma) has ten Everest summits under his belt, so I felt extremely privileged to have someone with his level of expertise guiding my trek. Anytime the weather or another challenge threatened to impede our ability to stay on schedule, Navin and his team on the ground found a way for us to circumnavigate the obstacle and persist. Due to their vigilance, our trek went off without a hitch and we never had to worry about any of the logistics- instead, we were able to focus on the unbelievable scenery and otherworldly environment surrounding us.

It has been a week since my return home, and I am still pinching myself to see if this experience actually happened- it was genuinely that perfect.

I could not recommend this expedition company more highly, and will plan to use them again in the event of my return to Nepal!

What an amazing adventure we had with Expedition Himalaya.
We were so well cared for from the day we arrived till the day of our departure.
Our EBC trek was absolutely fantastic, beyond our expectations, and our guide Ram was amazing.. always leading the way and keeping us safe.
Our accommodation along the way was lovely, staying in cosy guest houses, with a view of the mountains and always a delicious meal provided.
We had another week in Nepal after our trek and Expedition Himalaya organised all our accommodation and transfers which made for a stress free holiday.
Thank you to everyone involved in this company, would definitely recommend.

Amazing trek and climb in Nepal!

Another fun and successful climbing/trekking trip with Expedition Himalaya! This time Everest Base Camp and Island Peak. Sonam Sherpa is such a great guide! Loved the Yak and Yeti accommodation in Kathmandu. Nabin and the office staff took such good care of us when bad weather prevented our scheduled flight to Lukla, they got us on a helicopter and we didn’t miss out. Other tour groups had to change or cancel their trips due to several days of bad weather impacting flights.
Highly recommend Expedition Himalaya for trekking and cloning in Nepal!

Fantastic service from start to finish

Outstanding local company with outstanding guides, superb service and a can-do positive attitude. Our group of ten trekked to Everest Base Camp and Expedition Himalaya arranged all the details—guides, porters, lodging, route, food, transportation, climbing (for some of the group) etc., and when the initial plan fell apart due to weather, quick changes were made to keep us on track and communicated to us efficiently. Although they had many groups in the mountains, the personal service made us feel like we were the only one. From airport pick up to drop off it was first class service! I’m going back for more treks and I’ll definitely use Expedition Himalaya.

Dash Adventures and Expedition Himalaya provided one of the most spectacular experiences of my entire life. The Everest Base Camp trek was full of wonder, hard work, strangers that became close friends, pancakes, yaks, bridges, monasteries, French fries, stairs, tea. And oh the views, the views! Being in the midst of the highest mountains on the planet is like nothing else on earth. Our group was in exceptionally caring and attentive hands with Dash Adventures and Expedition Himalaya. Thank you.
