Itinerary
Upon your arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport, one of our representatives will greet you and transfer you to your hotel. You will have the rest of the day to relax and recover from your journey. If time permits, you can explore the vibrant streets of Thamel, a popular tourist hub. In the evening, we will have a short briefing about the trek ahead.
Today is a rest and preparation day in Kathmandu. You can use this time to make final preparations, purchase any last-minute trekking gear, or explore some cultural sites like Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple) or Kathmandu Durbar Square. Later, we will conduct a pre-trek briefing and answer any questions regarding the journey ahead.
We begin our journey with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi. The drive takes about 7-8 hours and follows the Trishuli River, passing through picturesque hills, teDay 03: Drive to Syabrubesi 1470m [7-8 hrs] rraced fields, and rural settlements. Along the way, we get stunning glimpses of Ganesh Himal and Langtang Lirung. Upon arrival in Syabrubesi, we check into a local lodge and rest for the night.
Our trek begins with a gradual ascent alongside the Langtang Khola. Crossing suspension bridges and walking through lush forests of rhododendron, pine, and bamboo, we continue towards Lama Hotel. The trail is rich with biodiversity, and if lucky, we may spot red pandas or langurs in the forest. Upon reaching Lama Hotel, we settle in for the night.
Leaving Lama Hotel, we ascend through dense forests before reaching Ghoda Tabela, where the landscape opens up to beautiful meadows. We enter Langtang National Park and might see wildlife such as Himalayan Thar or musk deer. As we approach Langtang Village, we witness stunning views of Langtang Lirung (7227m) towering above the valley.
We trek through yak pastures and small Tamang villages before reaching Kyanjin Gompa. Along the way, we pass ancient mani walls and traditional chortens. Upon arrival, we explore the famous Kyanjin Monastery, an important spiritual site for the local community. The breathtaking panorama of the Langtang range is visible from here.
To adjust to the increasing altitude, we take a rest day at Kyanjin Gompa. A hike to Tserko Ri (5000m) is optional, offering stunning views of Langtang Lirung, Yala Peak, and Dorje Lakpa. Alternatively, we can explore the surrounding area, visit the yak cheese factory, and interact with locals.
Our journey continues towards Langshisa Kharka, a remote pastureland used by yak herders. The trail becomes rugged, offering spectacular views of glaciers and high peaks. This part of the trek is less frequented, giving a sense of tranquility and adventure in the wild Himalayan landscape.
Today, we trek towards Moraine Camp, where the terrain becomes steeper and rockier. We pass through glacial moraines and barren landscapes, with incredible views of the surrounding peaks. The altitude gain makes the trek more challenging, requiring slow and steady pacing.
We ascend towards Tilman Pass Base Camp, where the trail becomes more technical. Crossing glacial debris and rugged paths, we move carefully to reach our campsite. The towering peaks and glaciers around us create a breathtaking yet challenging environment.
Today is the most challenging part of our trek as we cross Tilman Pass (5308m). The ascent requires careful navigation through ice and snow. Upon reaching the top, we are rewarded with stunning views of Langtang and Jugal Himal. The descent to Tinpokhari (Three Lakes) is steep but equally rewarding.
We trek through rocky terrain and descend towards Panch Pokhari, a sacred site with five holy lakes. The area is revered by both Hindus and Buddhists. The serene landscape and spiritual significance make this a memorable stop on our trek.
We continue our descent towards Nasimpati, passing through alpine meadows and rhododendron forests. The trail offers beautiful views of the rolling hills and distant mountain peaks. As we lose altitude, breathing becomes easier, making for a more comfortable trek.
The trail takes us further downhill as we enter more vegetated regions. Walking through lush forests and remote settlements, we reach Bhanjyang. The village offers stunning sunset views over the surrounding valleys.
Descending further, we reach Pauwabas, a small settlement with basic lodges. The landscape continues to change as we leave the high-altitude region behind. We enjoy the warmer climate and lush greenery along the way.
Our final day of trekking takes us down to Chautara, the district headquarters of Sindhupalchok. The trek passes through terraced farmlands and traditional villages, giving us a glimpse into the rural lifestyle of Nepal.
After breakfast, we take a long drive back to Kathmandu. Upon arrival, we check into our hotel and enjoy a much-needed rest. In the evening, we can celebrate our successful trek with a farewell dinner.
Our journey comes to an end as we transfer you to the airport for your flight home. We hope you leave with unforgettable memories of your adventure in the Himalayas.
