Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek offers trekkers a mesmerizing view of Mount Dhaulagiri (8167m), Tukuche Peak (6920m), Nilgiri (6940m), Baraha Shikhar (7847m), Mount Annapurna I (8091m), Annapurna South (7219m), Annapurna III (7855m), Machhapuchhre (6993m), Annapurna IV (7525m), Annapurna II (7937m), and Lamjung Himal (6931m). Apart from the stunning view of mountains, the trek also provides trekkers an opportunity to experience and learn the unique culture and tradition of Gurung and Magar people in that area. The main attraction of the trek includes the most beautiful view of sunrise above the high Himalayas seen from Poon Hill. Poon hill also hosts an awe-inspiring vista of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. Most routes of the trek pass through densely forested paths filled with rhododendron, oak, and pine trees. The route also takes through stone paved staircases walking on which may be a little tiring. Before the trek begins, we give you a free day in Kathmandu to take rest and make necessary preparation. You can also stroll around the markets of Kathmandu for any last minute shopping. Later in the evening, a small meeting is held to discuss the trek briefly. Overnight at hotel.
We catch our early morning 25-minute flight to Pokhara. Throughout the flight, we can enjoy the scenic views of Annapurna Himalayan Range. After landing, we take a bumpy drive to Nayapul which takes about 2 hours. Relishing the roadside view, we arrive in Nayapul for an overnight stay.
We begin our first day of the trek through the rhododendron forests that lead us to Tikhedhunga. Moving alongside the bank of Modi Khola, we make our way to Birethanti. We then continue to trek following the flow of Bhurungdi Khola and ascending through the forested trail. We also stumble across small waterfalls on our way to Tikhedhunga. Overnight at lodge.
Leaving behind Tikhedhunga, we trek towards Ghorepani for 5-6 hours. We begin our trek ascending towards the village of Ulleri, a large Magar village. We then gently continue to ascend through the forested path until we reach Banthanti. Relishing the beautiful view of Machhapuchhre (6993m), Hiunchuli (6441m), and Annapurna South (7219m) in the background, we gradually ascend to the Gurung village of Ghorepani. Overnight at lodge.
We take an early morning excursion to Poon Hill to view the beautiful sunrise above the high Himalayas. Poon Hill offers an amazing view of mountains like Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167m), Tukuche Peak (6920m), Nilgiri (6940m), Baraha Shikhar (7847m), Mt. Annapurna I (8091m), Annapurna South (7219m), Annapurna III (7855m), Machhapuchhre (6993m), Annapurna IV (7525m), Annapurna II (7937m), and Lamjung Himal (6931m). After enjoying the brilliant sunrise view, we return to Ghorepani and continue to ascend along ridges followed by the densely forested trail filled with pines and rhododendrons to reach Tadapani. Overnight at lodge.
Today we descend through a densely forested path filled with oaks, pines, and colorful rhododendrons until we reach Ghandruk. Ghandruk is a beautiful village inhabited by the Gurung people and also a home to many Gurkha soldiers. Ghandruk offers a stunning view of Annapurna South (7219m) and Machhapuchhre (6993m). We can also visit the Gurung Culture Museum in Ghandruk and try on their traditional wear. Overnight at lodge.
For the last day of our trek, we head towards Naya Pul which takes about 5-6 hours. Today we trek through stone paved stairs until we reach Syauli Bazaar. We then continue to trek to Nayapul via Birethanti enjoying the amazing landscape in the background. After reaching Nayapul, we take a 2-hour drive back to Pokhara. Overnight at hotel.
We catch our early morning scenic flight back to capital city enjoying the Mountain View throughout the flight. Upon reaching, we transfer you back to your hotel in Kathmandu. You can spend the rest of the day either resting in your room or exploring Kathmandu. Overnight at hotel.
