We pick you up at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu, and take you to the hotel. You can spend the evening resting in your hotel room or getting familiar with Kathmandu. Overnight at the hotel.
We pay a short visit to Swayambhunath Temple and enjoy the wide view of Kathmandu valley from the top of the hill. Later, we spend some time discussing the trek and then we collect all kind of permit required for the trek. Any last minute shopping should be done on this day. Overnight in Kathmandu.
Leaving Kathmandu, we drive for 7 hours along the free-flowing Trishuli River, and later Marsyangdi River, to reach Bhulbhule via Besisahar. Our drive will be smooth as we will be driving on black-topped pitched Prithvi Highway. Overnight at a hotel in Bhulbhule.
Today, we will have a bumpy off-road drive on the most dangerous road in the world. We enter the Manang district and pass the first village of Manang district, Tal. Driving across a couple of waterfalls in Temang, we reach Chame after 6 hours of drive. Overnight at a hotel in Chame.
We start our trek from Chame. We have an option of driving directly to Manang, but it’s not recommended as you may suffer from altitude sickness. We trek along Marshyangdi River and cross a couple of wooden bridges on our way to Upper Pisang. We also take a short tour of the largest apple farm in South Asia in Bhratang from where we cross the Swargadwari Bridge and continue ascending through the forested trail. After a total of 6 hours of trek, we finally reach Upper Pisang. Overnight at a lodge.
Chasing the breathtaking vista of Annapurna range and Gangapurna (7454m), we trek through lush forests of pine and juniper to reach Ghyaru. We then ascend on a gravel road until we reach the small village of Ngawal. From Ngawal, we trek for a couple of hours and reach the Thakali town of Manang. Overnight at a hotel in Manang.
Today, we take a day off from trekking and acclimatize to high altitude. We use this day to learn about the Manangi culture. We explore the Manang vicinity and visit some Buddhist monasteries. We also walk up to Gangapurna Lake from where we can view the Gangapurna Glacier along with the majestic Annapurna massif. We will have the delicious Thakali food while in Manang. Overnight at a hotel in Manang.
Leaving Marshyangdi valley, we trek uphill on steep trails till we reach Ghunsang. We then trek through pine and juniper forests and cross a Mani wall as we climb towards Yak Kharka. Ascending on rocky trails on a landslide-prone area, we reach Ledar after a total 7 hours of trek. Overnight at a lodge in Ledar.
Ascending through rocky trails, we relish the magnificent view of Annapurna range, Gangapurna (7454m), and the other Himalayas, on our way to Thorung Phedi. We trek through lush Himalayan forests of pine, oak, and juniper to finally reach Thorung Phedi after 3 hours of trek. Overnight at a lodge in Thorung Phedi.
Today is the most important day of our trek as we reach the highest point of our trek, Thorung La Pass (5416m). Trekking along Thorung La Pass is an accomplishment in itself as the trail goes through steep moraines. From the top of Thorung La, an astonishing vista of Annapurna range, Dhaulagiri range, Machhapuchhre (6993m), Gangapurna (7454m), and the other Himalayas can be seen. After relishing the mesmerizing view, we descend to the holy temple of Muktinath. Overnight at a hotel in Muktinath.
We make an early morning visit to the sacred temple of Muktinath which is equally important for Hindus, Buddhists, and Bons all over the world. After visiting Muktinath, we trek downhill for about half an hour and enter a small Himalayan village of Jharkot. We relish the breathtaking view of the Himalayas and continue our trek to Kagbeni which is the gateway to Upper Mustang. We trek for a couple of hours to reach the apple orchards of Kagbeni via Khingar. Overnight at a lodge in Kagbeni.
We leave Kagbeni for the windy valley of Jomsom. We trek along rocky ridges on a sandy terrain and descend passing several small villages to reach Jomsom after trekking for 3 hours. Jomsom welcomes us with strong wind, so we must fully cover our body, else, we may have a difficult time adjusting to the environment. Overnight at a hotel in Jomsom.
We take an early morning flight to the City of Lakes. Flying through the Kali Gandaki Gorge, we arrive in the beautiful city of Pokhara. In the afternoon, we will do boating on Lake Phewa, and later visit Mahendra Cave and Bat Cave in our private car. Overnight at a hotel in Lakeside, Pokhara.
We will take a 25-minute flight over the mountains to reach the capital city. You will once again be transferred to the hotel from the airport. You can spend the rest of the day either resting or exploring the markets of Kathmandu. Overnight at the hotel in Kathmandu.
We bid you farewell and drop you at Tribhuvan International Airport 3 hours prior to your scheduled flight.
