The Best of Kathmandu
This 5-day tour is a wonderful introduction to Best of Kathmandu, showcasing the many facets of the town and surrounding valley. The major sites of Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath and Swayambhunath illustrate Kathmandu’s mixed religious heritage while the towns of Bhaktapur and Patan showcase the wonderful craftsmanship that has existed in the Kathmandu valley for centuries, a tradition that continues today.
From Nagarkot, in the Himalayan foothills, the view of sunrise over the Himalayas shows off the spectacular natural beauty of Nepal, while an excursion around the Royal Botanical Garden reveals the country’s rich and varied plant species. This is a memorable tour that shows a side of the Kathmandu Valley beyond the tourist enclave of Thamel.

16th Apr, 2019"An amazing extended family adventure - ages ranging from 12 to 72!!" "So grateful to Expedition Himalaya for looking after us so well on our adventure in Nepal. Met at Kathmandu airport and enjoyed exploring Kathmandu. EH were very flexible and happy to accommodate our wishes. They organised a Guide for us one day and left us to our own devices the second day. All transport and tickets were sorted for us and when Lukla airport closed, due to bad weather, they made contact with us at the airport, we did land at, to discuss options which was very reassuring. Fortunately Lukla did reopen and we arrived on the day as planned. We chose to still trek as planned despite being late and our Guide looked after us as we trekked with head torches!! The long climb to Namche was very tough but the Guide and porters looked after us all well. Our plans changed and the group split into two. This meant that new accommodation had to be sorted out. This was all done successfully for us. At no point did we feel that this was too much trouble. One group got to Gokyo Ri and the other to Khunde. What beautiful parts of the world. We so pleased we flew back to Lukla via helicopter.A fantastic life time experience. It was great that we had been provided with an accurate kitlist for the trek. Would highly recommend booking through Expedition Himalaya."
