Everest region is the popular region for trekking and climbing activities throughout the globe. Adventure lovers from around the world recognizes Everest region for various trekking and climbing activities. One of the reason for being famous as a trekking and climbing destination is due to the fact that it is also the route to climb the mighty Everest which is a dream of many mountaineers. Other highlight of the regions includes high altitude glacial lakes such as gokyo lakes, many small villages of the indigenous Sherpa Tribes with their own unique culture and lifestyle.
Most of the region comes under the preservation of Sagarmatha National Park which is also the UNESCO world heritage sites. Foe entering the area trekkers need to take permits such as Sagarmatha National Park and Khumbu Permit. Besides trekking if climbing the peak, special peak permits needs to be obtained. Due the increasing tourism activities the infrastructures has been well developed in the area. The area is now accessible through both road ways via Jiri or Salleri and airways taking a direct flight from Kathmandu to Lukla which is also the most convenient way. Once you are at Lukla, you can find numerous lodges and hotels run by the local entrepreneurs where we will be staying overnights at. High in the mountains the only option to stay overnight is by camping for which the Sherpa’s and other people shall provide the assistance for.
