Tea House Trek

In Nepal, teahouse trekking is the most popular form of trekking, which allows trekkers to stay at local lodges and have wholesome food and comfortable rooms. Operated in beautiful and traditional wood and stone houses, teahouses are mostly available in popular trekking routes like Annapurna, Everest, and Langtang region.
Throughout the trek journey, the trekkers will stay the night in a teahouse at various places. After a long, hard day of trekking, the feeling of getting some warm food, a hot bath, and a cozy bed is pretty awesome. All of these hotels are squeaky clean, the food is hygienic, and somewhere trekkers could even get facilities like solar-powered 24-hour electricity and Wi-Fi.

Expedition Himalaya offers different types of treks depending upon the area of interest and availability of the facilities. The different types of trekking carried out in Nepal are:

FOT (Fully Organized Camping Trek)
FOT or Fully Organized Trek is also known as the camping trek. Everything will be arranged by us along with the support crew. A trekking crew consists of one sirdar, one cook and kitchen crew, Sherpa assistants and porters depending on the size of the group. Porters or beast of burden will be arranged to transport all the gear from camp to camp. Our main aim is to make the trek as hassle-free and enjoyable as possible. For bathroom facilities we carry a toilet tent. These treks are generally carried where there are no or only few lodges available. Mainly in the remote parts of the country.

T- House Trek (Guide, Accommodation, porter and meals)
TH trek means where you will be accommodated in the lodges en-route the trails owned by the people living in the area. Some of the popular trekking routes are served by lodges making it possible for you to stay at local Tea house. Tea house treks are less expensive then Camping trek and are largely suitable for small group. Usually during busy seasons if private rooms in smaller villages are fully occupied you might have to sleep in dormitory. Price includes accommodation in lodges, guide, porters and all meals.

GAP trek (Guide, Accommodation and Porter Trek)
GAP stands for the trek which includes Guide, accommodation and Porter. This is the most economical way to do trekking in Nepal. We provide an English speaking local Sherpa guide, book and pay for the accommodation in local lodges during trek and arrange required porters and trekkers will have to pay for meals directly to the local lodge owner. This option works only in certain routes in Everest, Langtang and Annapurna regions where trekking routes are served by local tea house or lodges. You pay for your own meals. We take care of all expenses of our staff.
